There is a new Migrant Policy Institute commentary (see link below) which examines the characteristics of DREAMers and the similarly aged U.S. millennial population.  The MPI report finds no evidence to support concerns about job competition between millennials and DREAMers/DACA recipients.

The report, “Will DREAMers Crowd U.S.-Born Millennials Out of Jobs?” is divided into these sections:
  • Employment and the Economy
  • Labor Market Impacts
  • Sectoral Employment
  • Illegal Immigration and Interior Enforcement
  • Immigration Policy and Law
  • DREAM Act/Deferred Action
  • Legalization/Regularization
Participants in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the broader DREAMer cohort “represent a tiny share of the overall and labor force populations in the 16-32 age range.”  The report indicates that these two populations are employed in different industries.
